Northwest of Kingston, off Missouri Highway 13, is the Far West Temple site in Caldwell County. The county was created specifically for the settlement of Mormons. The aged cornerstones, laid for the temple in 1838, are displayed under protective glass (below). Far West Temple was the second temple commenced but never constructed.
